Who (and what) is K&Co Bespoke? 

Goldsmith and Designer Elana Ginsberg and a small team of the best makers in the country. 

Being A sculptor and artist by trade, the transition into traditional Goldsmithing was a natural one for ELANA. As a graduate of George Brown College’s Jewellery Arts program in 2004, followed by a 2 year apprenticeship, K&Co was born. with two decades in the industry, K&Co is pushing the traditional boundaries of the luxury wedding, engagement and lifestyle realm by creating timeless heirlooms. 

limited edition pieces are hand made in our toronto studio and our one-of-a-kind jewellery is to be worn FOREVER. Engagement and wedding rings, Heirlooms, neck adornments, earrings, bracelets, EVERYTHING; in precious metals with diamonds and gemstones. These pieces are timeless, being passed down for generations and are an investment in quality, materials and design. 

at K&co, we believe that commerce can be used towards positive social change and commit to donating a portion of all online sales to not-for-profit organizations as well as local grass roots initiatives in our community of parkdale, toronto.

so how does this all work?!

limited edition and one of a kind pieces can be purchased directly through The K&Co Showroom or through K&Co’s online shop & affiliates. Clients wanting custom pieces can email us directly using the form in our contact section OR BOOK THEIR private consultation USING OUR ONLINE BOOKING PLATFORM. Custom pieces can take anywhere from 8-16 weeks (possibly more depending on availability and scheduling) with budgets starting in and around $4500CAD for an engagement piece. the cost for custom work is subject to the market pricing of diamonds and metals as well as custom design and fabrication fees. All diamonds used are provided for purchase by k&Co bespoke, and are certified and ethically sourced. all gemstones and gold are as ethically sourced as possible (it’s a complicated issue). All money exchanged between the client and studio for custom work is final sale. One complimentary resize is included with every custom/engagement ring where the recipient is not present for ring sizing. 

Now, what does HAND MADE actually mean and is it the only process we use?

When we say that pieces are HAND MADE, we literally mean that every piece is carved or fabricated by hand, polished by hand, diamonds and gemstones are set by hand, and engraved by hand using teeny tiny tools and skills honed over decades. This process can take hours upon hours and gives a beautiful quality to the work that can be lost with machined techniques. That being said, we also use CAD to render SOME of our more TECHNICALLY complicated works. We use different processes to achieve different results and fully disclose our methods per piece. 

Diamonds… what’s the big deal?? 

diamonds are the hardest, most luminous stones on the planet. They will last a lifetime as opposed to softer, lower quality gemstones which will wear away and dull over the years. We aim to use only Natural, ethically sourced, certified stones, but again, its a complicated issue and unfortunately it isn’t always possible. Transparency is our goal and we will always be 100% honest with our clients regarding origin and ethics. All diamonds used in our custom pieces ARE SOURCED and purchased through k&Co bespoke. (meaning: no, you cannot source your own diamonds for use in a K&Co piece) We provide our clients with the most unique and beautiful stones available within Canada. Stone sourcing is a part of our job and livelihood and we will work to find you the perfect diamond or gemstone within your budget. please respect that this is non-negotiable.

Yes, we can source them for you by request.

Gemstones, do we use them as well?

Yes. For the purpose of longevity we encourage clients towards higher quality (harder) gemstones like sapphires which will retain their polish and sparkle, even when worn everyday.

Ok, how about using a clients HEIRLOOM stones or old gold for a custom pieces? 

Heirloom Stones, yes, provided that they are in their original settings. Just be aware that taking stones out of old jewellery is labour intensive and not a FREE service.

Gold…maybe. Reusing and melting down old gold is possible but depends on the quality of metal that the client provides. in house We use newly refined gold which is recycled gold that has been processed and alloyed properly within a factory setting.

PURCHASES MADE THROUGH THE ONLINE SHOP ARE NON-REFUNDABLE BUT CAN BE EXCHANGED FOR ANOTHER PRODUCT OR A STORE CREDIT. THE CLIENT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL SHIPPING, TAXES AND DUTIES ASSOCIATED WITH THE RETURN AND/OR EXCHANGE.
